The examination will show whether the structures can be used for the construction of new houses.

By the end of the year, the specialists will complete the examination of seven Norilsk grillages. It will show whether those grillages can be used for the construction of residential buildings.

Anticipating a possible start of the renovation program, the city authorities have been preparing a list of facilities suitable for construction since April. Among them – seven grillages, located at different addresses. Their comprehensive examination is carried out in a number of areas and is provided for by two contracts, said Dmitry Samorodov, head of the city capital repairs and construction office.

Under the first contract, specialists measure and inspect building structures, conduct engineering surveys, such as drilling temperature pipes, examining piles and their depth, and the state of reinforced concrete. The contractor is already preparing technical reports on the results obtained, which will be sent to Krasnoyarsk for state examination.

“Most of the grillages have already been examined. According to the preliminary conclusion, the piles under them are in satisfactory condition, although they require reinforcement”, Dmitry Samorodov explained. “We plan to cut most of the grillages, since they will not withstand the load, and during the construction of the house we will build up a new reinforced concrete grillage and construct low-rise buildings on it”.

The second contract provides for the historical and scientific archaeological exploration of the territories. According to Dmitry Samorodov, the contractors who started work last week have already chosen some samples that will be sent to the region. The final conclusion on all the seven grillages will be ready in December.

As a reminder, the municipality presented the program for the renovation of the Norilsk housing stock in September last year. By 2035, the city plans to build 97 new houses.
