#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. A few days later, on September 7, a pilot project for the urban transport digitalization will start in Norilsk. The complex of information systems for managing public transport will make it possible to study passenger traffic, regulate the number of passengers and improve the payment system.

The complex was developed by the Datapax company and JSC Settlement Solutions with the participation of PJSC Sberbank and the Transtelematics service center.

The project is being implemented as part of the modernization of the urban public transport system, which is being carried out by the Norilsk Development Agency and the municipality.

The first stage involves two bus routes. They will visually stand out from the main stream with bright color. The salons will install equipment for payment by card, through the Norilsk Transport mobile application, using a QR code. In addition, unique services will be available to passengers: linking a ticket to a bank card, tracking travel history and building a route in a mobile application. From September 1 to November 30, residents of Norilsk will receive a discount on travel when paying with a Visa card.

The sensors will analyze the number of passengers. In addition, the buses will be equipped with external and internal video cameras. Voice information will allow you to know about stops in advance, and information and entertainment content will be broadcast on video screens.

As explained in the NDA, the data obtained will make it possible to effectively manage the public transport fleet: adjust routes, form a convenient schedule, and control fares.

A mobile application developed for passengers with up-to-date information on traffic and payment services.

“This project is very important for Norilsk. First, there is a definite financial benefit for public transport passengers: for three months, people will be able to save on fares. Secondly, the use of new digital technologies will have a positive effect on comfort, safety, and regulation of passenger traffic. Considering that now in Norilsk they are actively working to develop and improve the quality of life of citizens, the complex of information systems for managing public transport will be an excellent addition to it”, said the head of Norilsk, Dmitry Karasev.

“Experimental introduction of alternative, more comfortable ways and forms of fare payment is a new stage in a large project to modernize the public transport system. Digitalization is a prerequisite for a modern transport system, and we hope that the Norilsk people will appreciate the new approaches”, stressed Maxim Mironov, director of the NDA.

“Automation of complex processes is one of the main tasks of digitalization, which Sberbank is involved in. One of the most difficult systems to manage is public transport. In Norilsk, the analysis of the collected data will make it possible to change the operation of public transport, making it more flexible and convenient for passengers. And this is the most important thing, because ultimately the goal of any digitalization is the comfort and convenience of residents”, said Dmitry Solntsev, manager of the Krasnoyarsk branch of Sberbank.

The test drive of the project will end on November 30. Based on its results, they will study the possibility of introducing a new digital system throughout the entire transport network of the city.
