ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. For School No. 8 named after cosmonaut German Titov, this year is special: the educational institution is 60 years old. Congratulations and gifts arrive now, on the first day of the new academic year.
The Norilsk City Council of Deputies chairman Alexander Pestryakov congratulated schoolchildren, their parents and teachers. He noted that the coming academic year was marked by another memorable date in the school’s history: in April, the Museum of Aviation and Cosmonautics turns 45.
In honor of these events, the local parliament’s speaker presented the school No. 8 staff with the region Legislative Assembly chairman’s gratitude, and highly evaluated the contribution of teachers to the children upbringing, the domestic aviation and astronautics achievements popularization.
By the way, in December 2017, the city council of deputies supported the initiative of the school management to name it after the Hero of the Soviet Union, pilot-cosmonaut German Titov. So it turns out to be the third memorable date.
This fact did not go unnoticed by the Norilsk businessmen: they decided to congratulate the school’s museum with a unique gift: a German Titov’s real autograph.
“It was not easy to get it, but the theory of six handshakes works, and I am happy to present this gift to your aviation and cosmonautics museum”, the Norilsk businessman Evgeny Pestryakov handed over the new exhibit to the school.
The educational institution’s director Margarita Poloskova thanked for the gift and said that now the Cosmonautics Museum at the German Titov school will become even more popular and significant for the whole of Norilsk.
