#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. According to the Norilsk Development Agency, the builders started concrete work a month ago.
The old and deformed asphalt pavement is replaced with a more reliable polished reinforced concrete with a special topping. This coating is considered the least traumatic.
According to Victoria Chulanova, head of the Urban Environment Development Department of the NDA, Norilsk has never had skate grounds of this level.
“The renovated sports facility will be aimed not only at beginners, but also at experienced riders. It will be possible to hold demonstration performances, master classes, and competitions here”, she said.
The NDA also explained that a flybox, acceleration, plaza, two radii and a funbox will be installed on the BMX rollerblades, scooters, skateboards and bicycles area. At the same time, the figures were made in St. Petersburg, at the in-house production of the FK-RAMPS company, which is engaged in the design and construction of skate parks throughout Russia, in the CIS countries and Europe.
“The equipment has already been delivered to Dudinka. The assembly of the figures will begin next week, immediately after the completion of the work on the arrangement of the park’s foundation”, the agency said in a statement.
The park was designed in such a way that athletes from different disciplines do not interfere with each other and do not create dangerous situations. To do this, it was functionally delimited into three sectors: a street zone (imitation of an urban environment), an air zone (amplitude departures and acrobatic stunts performed at high speeds) and a flat zone (a large amount of space free from figures and the simplest equipment for training beginners).
The renewed skate park will open at the end of August.
