#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. As explained in the regional parliament, reindeer herders are a poor category of the population, they are unable to pay travel to the place of treatment and back. For reference: in 2020, the cost of a voucher for 14 days cost 47 thousand rubles, to travel from Khatanga and back is 68.2 thousand rubles.
“After the adoption of the law, annually about 40 reindeer herders of retirement age with pulmonary diseases and problems of the musculoskeletal system will be able to undergo sanatorium-resort treatment. Residents of Taimyr, Evenkia and Turuhansk district will be able to visit health resorts in the south of the Krasnoyarsk region and in Hakassia. I think that this will be a very popular measure of social protection of the population due to the fact that in the northern territories of the region there are no resorts of their own, where people could improve their health. Elderly people cannot go on vacation to a sanatorium at their own expense, their pensions do not allow this”, said Valery Vengo, deputy of the Krasnoyarsk region Legislative Assembly.
