#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. In June, the territorial department of the registry office resumed work in the village of Karaul. Previously, there was a problem with the department work that had to be solved at the Krasnoyarsk region Legislative Assembly level: specialists could not fly to remote villages of Taimyr for a month to register a birth or death act.
During the first two weeks of work, the department registered six acts of civil status: two births, one marriage, three establishments of paternity, and 13 more legal actions were also committed, the press service of the Taimyr administration reported.
Now the residents of the rural settlement of Karaul have access to the full range of services in the field of state registration of civil status acts: issuance duplicate documents, documents retrieval from foreign states registry offices, as well as consideration of applications for amendments, corrections in the civil status records acts.
“For the latter type of services, we can note the growth of applications in recent years. The fact is that in order to be included in the register of indigenous peoples of the Russian Federation, a citizen has to present a document confirming his nationality: a civil status state registration certificate. Often, in such documents issued in previous years by nomadic and village councils, there are erroneous or incomplete data, which can only be corrected by the registry office in the law prescribed manner”, said Irina Panova, the Taimyr municipal district administration registry office head.
The district municipality also noted that since this year, all services of the registry offices are as close as possible to the population and are not tied to the place of residence of a citizen, they are provided by any registry office at the place of applicant’s personal application.
