#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. In Norilsk, 75 young hockey players will take part in theoretical and practical training sessions as part of the national training program for hockey players Red Machine.
A special program for the hockey development in the regions of Nornickel’s business presence, which includes educational and training events for young athletes, is one of the significant areas of cooperation between the company and the Russian Hockey Federation (RHF). Let us remind you that Nornickel is the official partner and general partner of the national hockey player training program Red Machine (NHPTP RM).
For pupils of the hockey sections, FHR specialists, as well as invited stars and hockey legends, conduct training on the ice and in the gym for three days. About 70 young hockey players take part in the camp every year. In February, the children of Zapolyarny took part in the innovative Red Machine program.
During the training camps, local trainers receive a full series of teaching aids from NPPH Red Machine for use in their daily work.
This year in Norilsk, the training camp will be held from March 29 to 31 at the Arctica sports palace and will end with a hockey festival with the participation of Russian hockey legend Evgeny Artyuhin – the Russian national team player, KHL NHL, world champion among youth teams 2003, participant of the 2011 World Championship , the legendary Russian “tough guy”.
The upcoming training camp Red Machine, which will be held in Norilsk, was commented by the International Hockey Federation board member, the FHR special representative for international affairs, and the legend of domestic hockey Pavel Bure:
“The Red Machine hockey training camp is a wonderful joint initiative between Nornickel and the Russian Hockey Federation. Such events have been taking place in the Arctic for several years now; talented children from local sports schools take part in them, gaining incredible experience from the best of the best. With the advent of a professional club in Norilsk, interest in hockey gets a new impetus, and these boys receive a guide to what they can achieve with the right attitude to the matter. A clear example and transfer of knowledge is extremely important for the younger generation – this is exactly what hockey players get at such training camps. It is also important that the infrastructure in the region is developing: new sports complexes are appearing, existing ones are being reconstructed. Such initiatives are a striking example of the systematic approach of business represented by Vladimir Potanin, which creates a solid foundation for the further development and popularization of hockey in our country”.

The program for the comprehensive development of hockey implemented by the FHR and Nornickel has proven itself to be an effective tool. First of all, this concerns our own school of children’s and youth hockey. The growth in the number of fans of the game and players is limited only by infrastructure, but this issue will also be resolved thanks to the construction of the new ice palace.
