#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. In front of the Norilsk school No. 9, which will be the home for The Boys of the North for the next three weeks, a new season of the military-patriotic camp has been opened.
In front of the guests and parents, five detachments of the new season swore allegiance to the camp. Parents proudly looked at their transformed children: all the guys in a special uniform, walked to the gathering place in an organized manner, minting a step.
The patriotic association has existed since 1970. At first, it was oriented towards the difficult and socially unstable teenagers’ upbringing. Recently, girls began to be enrolled in the camp.
Young ladies are in the camp from morning to evening, and the boys stay there around the clock.
During the summer, one season takes place in the camp, it lasts 21 days: children are taught military training, a drill step, they visit public organizations, go for walks and to the Red Stones.
Also, children pay attention to sports, prepare for the final delivery of standards.
“In the fourth week, our young cadets take the exam to get a black beret, for this they study the whole shift, prepare. To get the desired beret, you need to assemble and disassemble a gun, show shooting and pass the relay”, says teacher-organizer Daria Udovenko.
Every day in the camp is busy: after breakfast kids drill, then go on an excursion. Also, the children visit education centers, a museum, a cinema, and the Oganer recreation center.
