#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. Norilsk residents submitted ten team applications for the Residents are Changing the City competition. First, the jury selected six ones – their authors finalized their projects with professionals from the Norilsk Development Agency (NDA). Five projects reached the final stage.
After a public defense, the commission selected the three most promising proposals. Their implementation will be financed by the NDA in the amount of up to 500 thousand rubles. The winning projects will also be submitted to the Norilsk administration, the second organizer of the competition for the public areas transformation, to consider the possibility of implementing the best proposals in 2025.
In Kayerkan, at 8 Norilskaya street, residents proposed organizing parking.
The project The Yard We Deserve was presented by residents of house No. 8 on Komsomolskaya street and house No. 5 on Leninsky prospekt.
“Our idea is to green the space, make a small park and put up concrete and wooden benches”, shares Tatyana Kovaleva, a member of the second winning team. “In our yard there is a garage of a large commercial company. We think it would be great if the garage became brighter and had colorful Arctic theme graffiti on it”.
Thanks to the competition, a Cozy Courtyard will appear on Moskovskaya street, 16.
“We have an area between the tax office and kindergarten buildings, which is surrounded by a fence. Now this place is a vacant lot where residents walk their dogs, and we want a courtyard to appear there for quiet and relaxing holidays”, says Oksana Beletskaya. “We’re going to lay paving slabs, plant landscaping, put up benches – it will be beautiful”.
The Residents are Changing the City competition was held with the Nornickel and Norilsk management organizations’ support.
Let us remind you that in the Krasnoyarsk region in 2024 more than a hundred courtyard areas will be improved.
