#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. The traditional 17th Northern Cities Futsal Cup among veterans has come to an end. Last weekend, the final, fourth round of the competition was held, in which the team of the Norilsk central district won. However, at the end of the season, the victory went to the players from Talnah, who had performed better in previous rounds.
Four teams took part in the competition – the Norilsk central district, Talnah, Kayerkan and Dudinka, formed from players over 40 years old. At the same time, according to the regulations, two players over 35 years old could be in the application of each squad.
As before, the matches were held in four rounds – each time in one of the four cities (regions) participating in the tournament. In each round, the opponents played according to the Olympic system, starting from the 1/2 finals. Thus, in total, during the draw, each team played eight matches. The winner and prize-winners were determined by the sum of places won in all four rounds.
In the semi-finals, the Talnah team defeated the Kayerkan one – 5:3, and the central district players were stronger than the Dudinka team with a score of 6:1.
In the match for the third place, Kayerkan defeated Dudinka – 5:3. In the final meeting, the Norilsk team outplayed the players from the ore capital – 2:0.
Despite the fact that the Norilsk team became the winners of the fourth round, the Cup went to Talnah, whose representatives had been stronger in the previous rounds.
