The initiatives cover a variety of public life areas in the regions: the art centers’ creation and the first vocational guidance schoolchildren tests, environmental campaigns and the new tourist routes’ opening, an inclusive musical with the citizens’ participation and museum programs with virtual reality.
Nornickel social policy department director Igor Suhotin said:
“The trend of this year has become the orientation towards mutually beneficial regional and interregional partnership among the competition applicants. Pandemic restrictions and a new reality have become an impetus for increased cooperation within the non-profit sector. Only by joint efforts and pooling of resources we can achieve significant results and social effects”.
This year, for the first time, participating organizations took into account the monitoring process and evaluating the project impact on the target audience in the timetable and budget.
Determining the winners, federal and regional experts were guided by the relevance and elaboration project’s problems criteria, the project logic presence, and also assessed the project work’s social effect.
Let us remind you that Nornickel has been implementing the World of New Opportunities charitable program since 2014. For seven years, about three thousand applications were received for the social projects competition. More than 750 projects were supported for a total amount of over ₽822 million.
Earlier, two business projects from Norilsk and Monchegorsk received financial support from Nornickel. They were selected on a competitive basis after a five-month training course “Social Entrepreneurship”.
