#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. The Norilsk Nickel mini-football club main team played its first games in the new tournament of the season – the Betcity Cup of Russia. Evgeniy Kuksevich’s team started from the 1/8 finals stage, and the first opponent of the Norilsk team was the Arhangelsk team Vodnik.
It is interesting that Vodnik’s team captain is former Norilsk Nickel player Konstantin Chashchin, and the team itself plays in the Paris-Major League in the West conference.
The first match took place on November 5. The fans definitely liked the game, because it was the hosts who scored the first goal, and the meeting itself ended in a draw – 2:2. This result gave great hope to the team from the Major League to advance to the next round of the tournament – the 1/4 finals.
Therefore, even more spectators gathered for the second game, which took place on November 6. However, the Norilsk Nickel’s skills prevailed over the Vodnik’s ambitions. The guests calmly beat the hosts with a score of 6:0. Temirlan Alibekov, Gleb Belyakov scored goals, and Danil Kutuzov and Ruslan Kudziev scored a double.
Thus, Evgeniy Kuksevich’s team advanced to the next stage of the Betcity Russian Futsal Cup – the quarterfinals. The Norilsk team’s opponent will be determined at the end of November, and the quarter-final games are scheduled for December 8 and January 6.
