According to the organizers, corporate events are important for the development of team spirit and interaction. Currently, cyber tournaments that bring together fans of computer games and electronic sports are becoming increasingly popular.
“The company’s management not only supports traditional areas in sports, but is also in constant search for new forms of implementation. E-sports is one of the new trends, and this tournament is a trial step in this field. During the preparation for the championship, we found out that there are quite a lot of people willing to take part in such competitions. Therefore, there are plans to further develop this area”, says Konstantin Shilko, the corporate projects office’s organizational department head at Nornickel.
“I have been actively playing for six years. Here people can relax, exchange impressions, recharge with positive energy, and get adrenaline from the game. It doesn’t matter if you win or lose. The main thing is to have a good time. Having heard about such a tournament at the enterprise, I immediately decided to try my hand. Participation in a tournament is valuable because it gives you a special feeling of excitement; you can feel the community of passionate people. It’s very energizing, competitions are emotions. It’s more interesting to play when there is spectator support and a competitive spirit between teams. Decent, strong players have gathered here. I believe that organizing such tournaments in our city is a huge step that the organizers have taken for the leisure of youth and adults. I thank all the organizers”, shared Eduard Davidavichyus, a participant in the corporate e-sports tournament, instrumentation mechanic representing the copper plant.
The victory was won by the Pozharka team of the Nornickel’s Polar division’s center for rapid response to emergency situations and emergency rescue operations’ fire safety department. Skalisty mine is in second place, third place is taken by the Technological Railway Transport Enterprise. The winners were awarded cups and prizes.
