#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. Nornickel has broadened its corporate scholarship program to include the Norilsk College of Industrial Technologies and Services, the Taimyr College, and several other educational institutions in its regions of operation, as the company’s press service announced.
The scholarship program also supports students in the Professionalism project at the Monchegorsk polytechnic college, those at the Pechenga Polytechnic College, and participants in the Polar College program. Like the Profstart initiative, this program offers students the chance for targeted vocational training and assistance from the company.
“Last year, we made significant changes to our scholarship approach. The company regularly increases employee salaries, so it makes sense to support our future employees – students who make good academic progress and have chosen to work with us after graduation. It’s important for us to nurture talented young people, show them opportunities for growth and development, and provide a decent standard of living in our northern cities and within the company. That’s why we’ve extended the scholarship to college students as well”, said Daria Kryachkova, vice president of human resources policy at Nornickel.
Currently, the scholarships are aimed at students who achieve good and excellent grades, have no academic debts, and are ready to join Nornickel after graduation. The scholarship amount varies based on the course of study and academic performance. For students at the Norilsk College of Industrial Technologies and Services, the monthly scholarship ranges from 7000 rubles in the first year to 15 000 rubles for those who sign a targeted training agreement.
For participants in the Polar College program and the Professionalism project, the monthly scholarship is set at 5000 rubles. University students and participants in the Profstart program receive 7000 rubles.
“The company regularly conducts career guidance and educational projects, offers paid internships for engineering students through the Profstart program, develops programs for future industry leaders, organizes company days at educational institutions, participates in specialized forums, and introduces future specialists to the diverse opportunities in the metallurgy sector”, the press service added.
Young professionals joining Nornickel can expect a comprehensive social package, opportunities for development in management, project, and expert tracks, as well as relocation assistance and housing for those moving from other cities.
Previously, we reported that Nornickel became a partner of the international student campus in Transbaikalia.
