#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. The Nornickel’s Polar Branch enterprises illuminate Norilsk: the polar night lasts 45 days, and the lights always make people happy.
The decision to improve the technical condition of chimneys, pipelines, overpasses, headframes and mine head buildings, as well as the main ventilation units and cable routes of the Polar Branch’s production divisions was made in 2021 at the Polar Branch director’s initiative.
The priority list included buildings of administrative and utility complexes and headframes of the Octyabrsky, Taimyrsky, Mayak, Komsomolsky and Skalisty mines, chimneys of the Nadezhdinsky metallurgical and copper plants – 21 objects in total. Now they all shine with bright LED lights.
“When implementing this project, the most modern and advanced technologies were used, including those that are used at the famous sports complexes of the Russian Federation. All materials are arctic-type and wind-resistant”, said Alexander Metlitsky, the Nornickel’s chief power engineer department’s electrical engineering department chief specialist.
The Polar Branch has many more production facilities in its plans for architectural lighting. A total of about 80 positions.
