#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. The Aika sports and recreation complex, which Norilsk Nickel began to build in 2018, is getting ready to open. On the eve of this significant event, Severny Gorod TV company summed up the results of the vote, according to which the complex will be filled with the most popular services in the field of physical education, sports, health and leisure.
Surprisingly, the majority of respondents – 33.22 percent – said that they would like to develop darts in Norilsk, a traditional game common in pubs in Great Britain, the Netherlands, Scandinavia, the United States and some other countries. However, darts are also played on a professional level.
26.53 percent of respondents supported the gym for rhythmic gymnastics. More than 14 percent of the respondents noted that there is not enough space for children’s play space in Norilsk. 5.91 percent of all survey participants voted for the appearance of an additional opportunity to play bowling. Another 3.68 percent expect that it will be possible to play futsal, basketball, volleyball, badminton at Aika. Among the services in demand, there is also fitness, which involves group classes and the opportunity to visit a gym – 3.12 percent of respondents spoke in favor of this. In addition, 2.56 percent of Norilsk residents would like to be engaged in a pool, and 1.9 percent – in an extreme sports studio.
Aika FLC will become the main training base of the Norilsk Nickel futsal club. It will host games of the Russian futsal championship among Superleague clubs and the Russian Cup matches.
