Norilsk to host Russian Futsal Cup’s Final Four

The tournament will be held in the northern city for the first time.

#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. The Final Four of the Betcity Russian Futsal Cup will be held in Norilsk for the first time in history. The Norilsk Nickel team’s rivals will be the clubs Uhta, Gazprom-Yugra and the CPRF (Communist Party of the Russian Federation). The games start in a month.

In the Final Four of the Betcity Cup of Russia, which is the second most important tournament in Russian mini-football, the Norilsk team will compete with the Yugra Gazprom-Yugra, the Moscow Communist Party of the Russian Federation and Uhta. On the way to the decisive matches, Evgeniy Kuksevich’s team beat Vodnik Arhangelsk and Tyumen.

The upcoming games will be held in the Ayka sports hall from February 23 to 25, the participants will start with the semi-finals, after which the meetings for third place and the final will take place. It should be noted that the cup will be played in Norilsk for the first time. The exact start time of the matches will be determined later.

“I know that city residents love mini-football very much and were looking forward to this event, especially after the appearance of the modern arena Ayka in Norilsk”, deputy general secretary of the Russian Football Union Irina Posirenina commented on the upcoming draw. “The RFU, together with its title partner, traditionally prepares a vibrant entertainment program for the audience so that the Final Four to be held at the highest level and become the main event of the mini-football season”.

The Norilsk Nickel FC is the winner of the Russian Cup 2019-2020

Let us add that the Norilsk Nickel FC won the honorary trophy in the 2019/20 season – that time the Norilsk team beat Gazprom-Yugra in the final.

In the last round of the PARI-Super League, Norilsk Nickel met with the current champion of the country, the CPRF, and scored two points in a two-game confrontation. In addition, following the results of last season, the northerners became silver medalists of the championship.
