#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. In Achinsk, Siberia, the Krasnoyarsk region championship in futsal among youths under 18 ended. Norilsk citizens – pupils of sports school №6 – took the third place in the team.
In total, eight squads took part in the competition. The northerners, led by coach Vadim Fateev, began the group stage with a confident victory over their rivals from Nazarovo – 6:0. On the second day, they lost to the hosts of the parquet – their peers from Achinsk with a score of 1:5. And in the third round they prevailed over the team from Lesosibirsk – 7:0. Thus, having taken the second place in their group, the Norilsk people advanced to the playoffs, where they met with a strong team from Zheleznogorsk.
Unfortunately, the northerners failed to win in the semifinals. By the first half of the meeting, Zheleznogorsk had secured a comfortable lead in the score, having upset the Norilsk goalkeeper three times. After the break, despite all the efforts of the Polar players, they did not manage to hit the opponent’s goal, which at the same time brought the score to 4:0 in their favor.
Nevertheless, the northerners were not left without medals: in the match for third place they beat Rassvet team from Krasnoyarsk. The main time of the match ended in a draw – 2:2, and in the penalty shootout the Norilsk people turned out to be stronger – 9:8.
At the same time, the player of the sports school №6 Alexander Nisterenko was recognized as the best defender of the competition.
The victory in the championship was won by the Zheleznogorsk team, who beat the Achinsk team in the final – 4:2.
