Open training is a common way in modern sports to meet the public, the press and fans. Recently, they are increasingly used as an element of promoting and popularizing sports, attracting young people into their ranks, and working with a potential sports reserve.
This time the Norilsk Nickel players, after master classes and classes with the sports school students, showed the guests in the Ayka sports hall how training is carried out in a professional futsal club.
Under the guidance of the head coach Evgeny Kuksevich, head coach Alexey Popov, goalkeeping coach Pavel Stepanov and physical training coach Jose Marcelo, a native of sunny Brazil, the players warmed up, performed several special training exercises, worked out individual combinations on the field.
The open training ended with a game against each other, which was like main matches of the team in terms of passion and speed.
After a short break, the Norilsk Nickel FC team chatted with their fans.
Not only old and faithful fans of the club, but also children, teenagers, and entire families turned out to be in front of the players’ box. Real fans of the club took the initiative and the microphone into their hands.
Most of the questions were addressed to the team’s head coach Yevgeny Kuksevich.
“The last game showed the lack of discipline in the team – there were a lot of unnecessary fouls, removals, violations. What’s the reason?
“The question is quite correct. I have to improve the discipline. Yes, there was a great desire to suppress the opposing team, but any opponent should be respected for sure. To tighten discipline, we decided that if someone does not follow certain rules, he will be punished”.
When asked about the upcoming game with New Generation team, the FC Norilsk Nickel head coach summed up:
“Our rival New Generation is a young ambitious team that performs differently: often loses, but at the same time there is a lot of enthusiasm and fire in Syktyvkar players. In the last round, they played with the leader of the championship – Sinara – and once again proved that they were ready to fight to the end. I’m sure, with Generation you need to be on the alert. It is a mistake to think that these will be easy matches”.
