#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. In the second match of the Parimatch-Superleague seventh round, Norilsk Nickel beat New Generation away, and thus retained the first place in the standings.
Unlike the previous meeting, in which the Nickel players were also stronger (3:2), this time the site owners looked more confident. It was they who opened the scoring when, in the fifth minute, after a long-range shot by Shohruh Mahmadaminov, Daniil Kovtun cut the ball into the net. The guests’ response was quick, Sergey Orlov leveled the score with a shot from an acute angle. In the middle of the half, Kovtun again distinguished himself, completing the pressure on the goal of Nikolay Balashov from the edges of the penalty area. And again it took the Norilsk people less than a minute to make up for lost time: Ruslan Kudziev removed the rival on the swing and hit the target accurately. At the break, the teams left with an advantage in favor of the guests: Rodriginho made a pass to Orlov, who left no chance for the goalkeeper who came out to intercept – 3:2.
In the second half, the opponents continued to press on the goal. Temirlan Alibekov from Julio Zanotto’s program upset Syktyvkar residents for the fourth time. They responded with a counterattack, in which Ilya Rubtsov distinguished himself. Then Kudziev hit the top nine with a powerful blow. And four minutes before the final siren, Roman Ivanin chalked up the game’s last goal – 5:4 in Norilsk Nickel’s favor, which, following the results of the round with 25 points, retained the first place in the standings. The closest pursuer of the northerners – the Communist Party of the Russian Federation team – has three points less.
In the next, eighth round of the championship, Norilsk Nickel will meet with Tyumen. The matches will be held in the northern city on December 11 and 12.
And tomorrow, on December 8, in Samara, Evgeny Kuksevich’s charges will face off against the local Dynamo within the the Russian Cup quarterfinals.
