#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. In terms of the inhabitants number, the Krasnoyarsk region took 14th place in the country. The regional capital confirmed the status of a million-plus city. Krasnoyarsk ranked 9th among 16 cities with over a million inhabitants. According to the census, 1 188 533 people live in the city. Compared to the 2010 census, the population of Krasnoyarsk increased by 213 942 people, or 22 percent.
The second largest city in the Krasnoyarsk region, Norilsk, has 175 237 people. The northern city population over the decade, since 2010, decreased by one percent, that is, by 1 015 inhabitants.
The city of Achinsk is in the third place with 102 072 inhabitants. Compared to 2010, the number of Achinsk residents decreased by 8 376 people, which is eight percent.
