#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. The country’s first large-scale experimental research exercises in the Arctic are being held in Dudinka and Norilsk, in which representatives of seven regions are involved – from the Murmansk region to the Chukotka autonomous district.
In the Taimyr capital, rescuers worked out three scenarios of possible emergencies on the water and on the ground. The course of the exercises was personally supervised by the Minister of Emergency Situations of Russia Yevgeny Zinichev. Today, September 8, the exercises continue in Norilsk. So, for the first time, rescuers will work out the evacuation of people connected to a ventilator at the Oganer hospital.
The accompanying sports exercise program also turned out to be busy and took two evenings. On August 6, the Arctica sports palace hosted a friendly ice hockey match between the teams of the Russian Emergencies Ministry and the Norilsk national team – the city administration and Nornickel. The victory was won by the guests of the northern city with a score of 5:2.
On September 7, the team of the main directorate of EMERCOM of Russia in St. Petersburg and the team of Norilsk Nickel FC met on the floor of the Aika sports complex to measure their strength in futsal. As the deputy minister of the EMERCOM of Russia Alexander Chupriyan noted, the history of such friendly matches goes back decades.
“More than 30 years ago, on February 23, there was a terrible fire in a hotel in Leningrad. And our nine guys died in that hearth. Two years later, we held the first tournament in memory of firefighters who died in the line of duty. Thus, the Firefighter club was born. These guys bring fame not only in the battle with emergencies and fires, but also on sports grounds”, said Alexander Chupriyan. “We are happy to be in this football temple, and it is a great honor to play on this field. Therefore, we will rejoice today at the magic football miracle”.
“Today we were united not only by joint emergency response exercises under the strict guidance of the Russian Emergencies Ministry, but also by sports”, said Nikolay Utkin, Nornickel’s senior vice president, head of the Norilsk division, addressing the fans and players on the eve of the match. “Today’s mini-football match was a real holiday for us. We also had an unprecedented friendly ice hockey match yesterday. Thank you from all hospitable Norilsk for the fact that the Ministry of Emergency Situations demonstrates to us not only professionalism in emergencies, but also in sports life, for what you are doing in the Arctic, and in Norilsk in particular”.
The start of the match turned out to be relatively calm, just closer to the middle of the half the speed on the floor began to increase. Both the owners of the site and the guests of the city made several successful attacks, but the ball hit the goal only twice. In the first case, the nickel players scored, in the second, the rescuers answered. The first half ended with an equal score – 1:1.
The second segment of the match turned out to be less productive – only one goal scored, but very emotional. Opponents who were equal at will to win kept the fans in suspense throughout the entire half. As a result, a player from the Norilsk Nickel FC managed to hit the target. 2:1 in favor of nickel footballers.
Earlier, we reported that an exhibition of fire and rescue equipment had opened on Leninsky prospect as part of the exercise.
