#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. 11 teams will take part in the competition: Alania, Baikal, Stroitel, SKGMI, Masalli, Metallist, Motor, Turan, Lesorub, NUR and Yuldyz. They will play the championship in a round robin system in one round.
Games will be held at the stadiums Zapolyarnik and Solnyshko. The first round is scheduled for June 29, in the opening match in Norilsk Motor and Yuldyz will meet. The final, tenth round will take place on August 26-28.
In addition to the championship, the participants will compete for the second most important trophy – the Norilsk Cup, in which meetings will begin on July 18, and the final is scheduled for August 8. During the season, there will also be several mini-tournaments timed to coincide with the Metallurgist’s Day and the Miner’s Day. The season will end in early September with the traditional Zapolyarnaya Pravda Cup.
The main favorites are the same – Alania, Turan and Stroitel, the chief judge of the competition Nail Huseynov told. However, unlike previous seasons, the fight for the championship this time will be especially tense.
“Despite the fact that this year there are only 11 teams, the competition will be very serious. The fact is that some teams have united, so the number of passing matches is expected to be significantly less, all rivals are prepared as much as possible, and there will be a spectacular struggle. In addition, there are several newcomers who will also be interesting to watch”, said the chief judge.
As a reminder, due to the pandemic last year, the football season in Norilsk was canceled. The current champion is Okean, and the owner of the City Cup is Turan. This summer, the big football season in the city opened with a mini-tournament.
