#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. In 2025, construction of schools will begin in the villages of Volochanka, Heta and Nosok. This was discussed at a meeting of the Northern and Arctic Territories and Indigenous Minorities Development Committee, and regional parliamentarians also established a draft of the region’s main financial document, the Taimyr administration press service reports.
Small-format educational centers for 70 students with preschool groups for 30 pupils are planned to be built in the villages of Volochanka and Heta, an educational center for 280 students with preschool groups for 60 pupils – in the settlement of Nosok. The funds will be allocated from the regional budget.
Funding has also been provided for repairs of other educational institutions. 300 million rubles have been allocated for these purposes. The work will be carried out at the Dudinka boarding school, and the reconstruction of the dormitory building of the Hatanga secondary boarding school is also planned.
Another 160 million rubles from the new budget will be allocated for summer holidays for children living in harsh climatic conditions. In total, the committee discussed 12 state programs that affect the lives of northerners.
Recall that in 2025, about a billion rubles will be allocated for the preservation and development of the North indigenous peoples’ traditional way of life. The amount includes payments to fishermen and hunters, one-time benefits for preparing for the fishing season, subsidies to organizations engaged in the sale of reindeer meat, and support for programs to preserve the native language and culture.
