The Krasnoyarsk Arctic Civil University social project became one of the Presidential Grants Fund competition winners. A multifunctional public space of the civil university with an area of 100 square meters will be opened in Dudinka, in a building on Andreeva Sstreet, 9. Renovation has begun there.
Building materials have already been purchased, an interior design solution has been developed. There will be modern furniture and equipment for lectures, trainings, meetings with the population.
Educational events will be held, open areas for meetings with residents of Taimyr will be organized at the Krasnoyarsk Arctic. Northerners will learn about the strategy for the Arctic development, the territory socio-economic development and the labor market directions.
“The main goal of the project is to draw the attention of northerners to the prospects for the development of Taimyr as part of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation through educational activities and designing their professional future, taking into account the territory’s needs and capabilities”, the Taimyr administration’s press office explained.
The organizer of the project is the Krasnoyarsk Arctic Taimyr local fund for promoting the development of science, culture, education and sports. Among the partners are the administration of the Taimyr Municipal District, the Information Methodological Center, Masterra LLC, the Arctic Development Project Office (PORA), the Norilsk Development Agency and the Norilsk State Industrial Institute. Negotiations with subsoil users working in Taimyr about their possibility to act as partners of a civil university are underway.
