#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. The region head Mikhail Kotyukov signed a decree on the formation of a new Council of Young Scientists and Specialists under the Krasnoyarsk region’s governor. Candidates for council membership can take part in the competition by submitting applications within 30 days from the date of the decree publication, as reported on the Krasnoyarsk region government portal.
The selection is carried out by a specially created commission with the involvement of specialists from the fields of science and higher education. Students, employees, postgraduates and teachers of educational or scientific organizations of the region, as well as university graduates who are getting a job in their field for the first time can become council members. Candidates are not be older than 35 years.
The Council of Young Scientists has been operating since 2010. It is a permanent advisory body under the region governor. Council members help implement the rights and legitimate interests of young scientists and specialists, involve them in public life, and also advise government bodies on youth policy in the fields of science, education and innovation.
During the council’s previous convocation, young scientists attended more than 80 conferences at the all-Russian and international level, became speakers at federal scientific conferences and scientific congresses, such as the Congress of young scientists, the IX International forum of technological development Technoprom-2022, the All-Russian congress of councils of young scientists and student scientific communities and other events.
The council members actively conduct popular science activities in the region’s schools, show by their own example the image of a modern young scientist, implement legislative initiatives at the regional level, develop measures to support and stimulate young scientists, hold meetings with young researchers, help in building a scientific and innovative career, and act as mentors for younger researchers.
