#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. MGIMO hosted an open day of the International Institute for Energy Policy and Diplomacy (MIEP), which was attended by the heads of the leading departments and research centers of the institute, as well as the largest partner companies.
Future students of the country’s leading university were greeted by director of MGIMO MIEP, president of the International Academy of Fuel and Energy Complex, corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences Valery Salygin and head of the Corporate Security Department, the base department of the Nornickel company at the MGIMO MIEP, doctor of Economics Vladislav Gasumyanov.
“Four years ago, when deciding to open a base department of corporate security at MGIMO MIEP, Nornickel was guided by the following imperative: “Corporate security is an integral part of the national system of ensuring the country’s economic security”. Based on this, the teaching methodology and the educational process were built. For Nornickel, cooperation with MGIMO is not only a continuation of corporate social policy, but also a direct contribution, a strategic investment in human capital and sustainable development of the society”, he stressed.
In addition, Vladislav Gasumyanov noted that the department intends to expand the list of academic disciplines in the near future. In particular, they plan specialized courses on such topics as environmental safety, country risk management and new trends in competitive processes in global markets.
“An effective combination of theory, practice and the ability to adapt to new foreign policy and foreign economic challenges are the competencies that our students receive, including through active participation in the educational process of companies such as Nornickel”, Valery Salygin, director of MGIMO MIEP said.
May we remind, that over the four years of its work, the department has trained 120 specialists in the field of corporate security, 20 graduates of the MGIMO master’s program defended their diplomas.
