#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. Taimyr will again have news broadcasts in the languages of the peninsula’s indigenous peoples – Dolgan, Nenets and Nganasan. This is a joint project of the Taimyr administration, the Severny Gorod media company and the Krasnoyarsk branch of the State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company in Dudinka.
In the languages of the indigenous peoples, there are not many words and expressions that are common in the everyday life of the Russian-speaking population. Each news story has to be translated and adapted so as to convey information to viewers without losing meaning.
The plots are translated into Nganasan by Anastasia Turdagina and Evgenia Sidelnikova, into Nenets – by Rosa Yaptune and Faina Togi, into Dolgan – by Vitaly Porotov. Each of them is fluent in their native dialect and has extensive experience in participating in educational projects to popularize their native culture.
Watch the episodes on the 23rd button in the cable networks of MTS and Norkom and on the YouTube channel of the Severny Gorod.
Earlier we told that a legal portal for the indigenous small-numbered peoples, and some indigenous peoples may stop being small-numbered after the new population census.
