#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. The open skating rink has started operating at the Zapolyarnik stadium in Norilsk. Ice skating enthusiasts can spend time with health benefits every day, except Monday.
As the This Is Taimyr was told in the stadium’s information office, it was inappropriate to arrange public outdoor skating because of the severe frosts, so the rink opened only in March:
“We usually open it before the New Year holiday, but since the temperatures were low and the skating rink was heavily covered with snow, it starts working late this year”.
Norilsk residents can enjoy skating from Tuesday to Saturday.
Skate rental is also organized at Zapolyarnik. The cost is 150 rubles for adults, 75 rubles for children under 14 years old. Entry with your own skates is free.
Earlier, This Is Taimyr told about the main Norilsk stadium opening history. Its construction began in 1952. Seven years later, a grand opening took place on the Metallurgist Day.
