The design of the XXIX World Winter Universiade – 2019 in Krasnoyarsk got the award of the prestigious international competition Red Dot award. It has been held since 1955 in Germany.
The 2019 Universiade was highly praised in the Brands & Communication Design nomination for the design of the event: symbols, mascot, torch, bowl of fire, medals, uniforms, as well as the design of the city’s spaces, sports facilities and Krasnoyarsk international airport. The Krasnoyarsk design group ArtStyle worked on the project.
“Red Dot is an important award for the region. The project has received high recognition at the world level, and this is the merit of a large number of people who created the Universiade”, – the general director of the design group Igor Bashkatov said.
The jury of the Red Dot award competition consisted of 24 independent experts. Almost seven thousand projects from 50 countries of the world competed for the awards.
Let us remind that the World Winter Student Games – 2019 were held in Krasnoyark on March 2 – 12. Nornickel was the general partner of the games. Norilsk was the first city in the Krasnoyarsk region to meet the Universiade flame; 18 torch-bearers carried the torch along the city streets. At the Nadezhda metallurgical plant, the Universiade fire was combined with the fire of the melting furnace.
