#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. At the St. Petersburg economic forum, the Krasnoyarsk region’s governor Mikhail Kotyukov discussed the creation of a high-tech technopark in the region with the leadership of the Skolkovo Foundation.
“The project was developed by the Skolkovo foundation together with the region’s Digital development ministry and with financial support from the Nornickel company. According to the concept, the technology park will specialize in software development in the field of artificial intelligence, quantum technologies, robotics, wireless communications and other advanced areas. These technologies will be used in various fields, including mining metallurgy, ecology, healthcare and the space industry”, the regional government explained.
“We are ready to increase the share of investments in high technologies, as well as develop infrastructure to support high-tech and innovative enterprises. The technology park should become a key part of this infrastructure”, emphasized Mikhail Kotyukov.
The project is planned to be implemented in stages. Options for locating the technology park are currently being explored, and issues of acquiring facilities and premises located in the central part of Krasnoyarsk are being considered.
“The demand for the creation of innovative infrastructure is increasing, this is due both to the accelerated technological development of regional projects and to the emergence of a larger number of high-tech projects aimed at commercializing their solutions”, said Yury Saprykin, chief managing director of the Skolkovo foundation.
The Nornickel company has already expressed its readiness to become one of the technology park residents. Also, more than 20 companies in the digital sector of the economy, including five companies from other regions, declared their readiness. In addition, it is planned to create digital laboratories on the basis of two universities: Siberian federal university and Siberian state university of science and technology named after academician M.F. Reshetnev, where personnel for the IT sector are currently being trained.
Previously, the State Duma adopted a law on the procedure for the creation and development of technology parks in the field of high technologies. Also, a site for the construction of an eco-technopark was chosen in Norilsk.
