A film was presented in Moscow for the 100th anniversary of Vladimir Dolgikh’s birth.

#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. A screening of the film He Lived and Created the History of Places was held at the Central Museum of the Great Patriotic War on Poklonnaya Gora in Moscow.

Vladimir Dolgikh is a veteran of the Great Patriotic War, twice hero of socialist labor, honorary citizen of Moscow, Krasnoyarsk region and Norilsk, the fourth convocation State Duma’s deputy, the Federation Council senator, and doctor of technical sciences. For almost 20 years, he headed the work of the Moscow Council of War and Labor Veterans, was directly involved in the Victory Museum creation and the Siberian soldiers memorial construction on Volokolamsk highway.

“Over the past four years, Vladimir Dolgikh headed the public council, thanks to which the museum became what we see it today. The unique exposition The Feat of the People, created with his support, received the presidential prize in literature and art”, said the museum’s general director, Alexander Shkolnik.

The scriptwriter Alexander Klyukin emphasized that it is important not only to remember people like Vladimir Dolgikh, but also to tell the younger generation about them, as reported on the Krasnoyarsk region’s official portal.

Vladimir Dolgikh’s daughter Natalya Arbiyeva shared her memories of her father:

“His life path is, first and foremost, a path of creation and loyalty to his country”.

Vladimir Dolgikh wrote that “the fact that I also contributed to the country’s development history certainly makes me happy and gives me the right to say that my life was not in vain”.

Norickel vice president Andrey Grachev expressed gratitude for Vladimir Dolgikh’s contribution to the region and Norilsk’s development:

“His name is associated with the history of not only Norilsk, the Krasnoyarsk region, but also the entire industry of Russia. We are doing everything possible to perpetuate his memory”.

Earlier, we reported that in memory of the Norilsk honorary citizen, a memorial plaque was installed on the house where Vladimir Dolgikh lived.
