#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. Two youth teams of the Norilsk Nickel mini-football club, consisting of players under 16 and 18, will play matches against their peers from Moscow CSKA in the first round of the Russian Junior League. Games of this level will be held in Norilsk for the first time.
The All-Russian Junior League is a competition held under the auspices of the Russian Football Union, in which youth teams of Super League and Major League clubs, consisting of players under 18, participate. The Junior League is divided into two age groups – the so-called U-16 and U-18. The Norilsk Nickel FC is represented in both groups.
The upcoming matches, in which the Norilsk Nickel U-16 and U-18 teams will meet their peers from Moscow CSKA, will be held on Sunday, October 20, in the Aika sports hall.
It is noteworthy that the Junior League matches will be held in Norilsk for the first time, largely due to the fact that from the new season the league came under the control of the Russian Football Union and now the participating clubs receive additional funding from the organization. Previously, Norilsk teams playing in the Junior League were forced to play away due to the high cost of flights for opponents to the northern city.
