#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. Branch of the federal network of children’s creativity centers IT-Cube. Norilsk was opened within the framework of the Education national project. Children are already being taught programming in Python, including the program from the network’s partners – Yandex.Lyceum.
In order to get into the groups, the guys went through a serious selection. Thus, the competition for the program Yandex.Lyceum was seven applicants per place. In total, 405 schoolchildren from 7 to 18 years old were enrolled in the project.
The training will last two years, after which, according to the organizers, students will be able to work as junior programmers. It is also reported that the recruitment of teachers into the team began in the spring. In addition to specialized training, all the teachers undergo additional certification from IT-Cube and Yandex.Lyceum.
“In the coming year, they will be trained in eight different areas, including Python programming, mobile development, VR/AR – virtual and augmented reality, artificial intelligence, programming fundamentals, system administration and others. Currently, classes are held in the classrooms of partner organizations of IT-Cube. Norilsk. By November, after repair works are finished, IT-Cube. Norilsk will open its doors to students of other fields”, the organizers of the project noted.
We add that the project is funded from the federal and regional budgets, with financial support from the Norilsk Development Agency and the municipality. Since November, when IT-Cube. Norilsk works in full force, all classes will be held in the building of the Norilsk technical school of industrial technologies and services.
