#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. Big football has returned to Norilsk. In the next few months, the city’s strongest teams will hold a championship, compete for the Norilsk Cup and play in several more tournaments.
11 teams took part in the traditional 18th tournament Healthy Lifestyle, which annually opens the big football season in Norilsk. The games were held at the Zapolyarnik stadium, the strongest teams were identified according to the Olympic system.
As the chief referee of the tournament Nail Huseynov told, the competitions were held according to a simplified scheme: they played on half of the football field, teams had eight participants, and the meetings lasted two halves of 20 minutes each.
“We regularly start with this tournament, which has become a good tradition for Norilsk football fans. As before, it was obvious that the people missed football on the open field. It is gratifying that there were also newcomers: for example, the Lesorub team, which performed quite successfully for the first time. Of course, some of the participants were not the main cast. For example, Alania, one of the leaders, has some players who have not yet returned from vacations. But I am sure that during the season the guys will catch up, the championship will turn out to be interesting”, he said.
According to the results of the competition, the third place went to the Masalli team, which beat Alania with a score of 3:0. In the decisive match, Turan and Lesorub met: the main time ended in a draw – 1:1, and in the penalty shootout the players of the more famous Turan turned out to be stronger – 4:2.
We add that the city championship starts on June 26. Ten strongest teams will take part in the competition, which will compete for prizes based on the results of two rounds. In the middle of the season, the games of the second most important tournament, the Norilsk Cup, will begin.
