#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. The city planning council at the Norilsk mayor’s office discussed the draft of the Norilsk people heroic labor sign and the place for its installation.
The project developer proposed the area of the old settlement of Alykel as the first location for the sign. There is good visibility when driving from the airport and Dudinka to the city and in the opposite direction, the sign is well combined with the nearby architectural composition Taimyr.
Another place as a recommended location was offered an observation deck at the Ambarnaya river – a hill with a gazebo in front of the bridge. There is more space for building here. The territory has its own history in the form of the first bed of a narrow-gauge railway and a steam locomotive – a monument to the first railroad builders.
The city council members agreed that the place near the Ambarnaya river has a more appropriate historical context, a convenient location with beautiful views around, and the potential for further development.
A sketch of the future stela was developed on the basis of the badge Norilsk – to the Front. The star, the name of the city and its status will be illuminated from the inside. The new facility is designed to inform Norilsk guests about the status of the working city and its labor history during the Great Patriotic War.
