#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. The famous Russian footballer, Honored Master of Sports of Russia Andrey Arshavin mastered the basics of driving a mining dump truck.
Let us remind you that Arshavin and other eminent football players came to Norilsk to attend the Big Football Festival organized by Nornickel and the Russian Football Union.
First, the national football legend was instructed in labor protection and industrial safety. After that, Andrey Arshavin was offered to go to the Talnah enrichment plant (TEP) in order to get to know in practice the peculiarities of the dump truck driver work.
Upon arrival at the TEP site, the famous footballer met his mentor – the heavy-duty car driver Mikhail Lisovoy, with whom they climbed into the driver’s cabin, started and went to the site of the Skalisty mine, where they had to pick up the rock.
Having approached the bypass conveyor, the front loader put the ore into the dump truck. Andrey Arshavin was surprised by the severity of the rock: “What a weight! The car got shaken severely!”
Then the fully loaded mining dump truck went to the TEP weighing station.
As expected, the driver, together with Andrey Arshavin, delivered 55 tons of valuable rock in one trip.
“I didn’t expect the equipment to be able to withstand such a load. I’ve never been that close to production before. Now, as in football, I had to calculate the situation in advance. The car is so bulky that when driving through intersections, you need to carefully look around. In the BelAZ cockpit it seemed that I was in the sky, and all the cars moving around were toys that we played in childhood”, the footballer admitted.
This is how the famous athlete learned the mining dump truck drivers’ work and delivered the ore to the TEP.
After the working voyage, Andrey Arshavin decided to leave an autograph at BelAZ in memory of that day and thanked him for the opportunity to immerse himself in the industrial atmosphere.
Meanwhile, Arshavin’s colleagues: Vladimir Bystrov, Andrey Tikhonov, Dmitry Sychev, Yegor Titov, Dmitry Alenichev and Ruslan Pimenov – visited the Copper Plant and went down to the Komsomolsky mine.
Let us remind you that the Big Football Festival was held in Norilsk in honor of the first anniversary of the Aika sports hall, which was built at the Nornickel’s expense. The company allocated 3.6 billion rubles to create a large sports facility.
