#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. Five routes along the Taimyr mountains, lakes and waterfalls, as well as those associated with Norilsk deposits, have been passported and brought into line with the federal norms of the tourist trial.
“Tourists do not have to fly by helicopter – protected and historical places are around the corner. We tested, developed and passported routes that are designed for Norilsk residents, that is, for mass tourism: any citizen or guest of Norilsk can use them”, says the Taimyr explorers club’s head Larisa Stryuchkova.
In fact, you do not have to be a hyper-mature or a super-equipped tourist to visit these places of the incredible, mysterious and unknown Taimyr peninsula:
Around the Mount Schmidt, the area of Norilsk Lantokoi stone. In a walk around the main natural attraction – Mount Schmidtiha – in four hours you can see 15 objects: the coal stream, the mines, the Norillag camp remains, the Norilsk Golgotha memorial and so on. The route is designed for people without special training;
Beautiful Mokulay River, the northwestern spurs of the Putoran plateau. The picturesque place behind Talnah, where the eagles nest, the purest water flows and a series of canyons flaunts, each of which changes its outlines depending on sunlight. A conductor is required on the route, often you can get there only on a quarter-cycle or offroader;
Canyon Bolgochtoh, the area of the Dudinka-Norilsk highway’s 29th kilometer. The car and pedestrian route (it is also called ‘children’s’) with a view of the Boganidskoye lake and the floodplain of the Bolgochtoh river, high larch and sandy beach. Further, the path leads along a unique canyon about a kilometer long;
Lake Kapchuk, the area of large Norilsk lakes. The route passes through the Norilskaya – Talaya – lake Melkoye – lake Lama – river Kapchuk – lake Kapchuk and involves visiting waterfalls, gorges, majestic peaks. Fjord landscapes, search for agates and calcite, stopping at the Deme river mouth and other surprises await for the participants;
Isthmus, the area of large Norilsk lakes. A one-day trip on a boat or an air cushion vehicle to the neck between two lakes – Lama and Kapchuk. For navigation for the isthmus, tourists can use signs installed by Nornickel volunteers. On the way there is a stop at the Taimyr Reserves visit center.
For each of the five new routes, The Taimyr explorers club prepared booklets with a brief description of the path, a map, valuable instructions, navigation and other necessary information.
