#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. In 2026, Hatanga will celebrate its 400th anniversary. To celebrate the holiday, an organizing committee will be created for the preparation and holding of the anniversary events.
Now 5375 people live in the settlement, most of them are representatives of the indigenous small-numbered peoples of the North. There are 156 registered enterprises in the settlement, 29 of which are municipal.
“Hatanga has its own airport, which is the most open in the Arctic zone in terms of meteorological conditions – 300 days a year the weather is comfortable for flying”, said Anatoly Tsykalov, Deputy Prime Minister of Krasnoyarsk region, at a meeting dedicated to the development of Hatanga. “The airport can provide international flights to the North Pole. There is a seaport in Hatanga, connected to the routes of the Northern Sea Route. All this makes this settlement attractive for both business and Arctic tourism”.
The meeting participants discussed the issue of Arctic tourism. The North is in great demand not only among Russians, but also among foreign citizens. Domestic tour operators are ready to organize a route to the North Pole, as well as a cruise trip along the Hatanga Bay. For such tours, the fundamental issue is service quality.
Now the concept of creating a cultural and ethnographic center and a tourist cluster in Hatanga is being developed. To meet the guests of the region, a building of a local hotel was purchased for a scientific and tourist center with further reconstruction, the regional government said.
Yulia Logacheva, General Director of the Krasnoyarye Airports federal enterprise, reported that Hatanga airport had already received a certificate of compliance from the Federal Air Transport Agency. Next year, it is planned to erect modular buildings of the terminal and a garage for 12 cars. This year, new special equipment was purchased to service the facility.
