#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. One of the northernmost cities in the world is located on the Taimyr peninsula, in the Far North, beyond the Arctic Circle, near the Kara sea and the Yenisey river.
The world’s largest deposit of nickel, copper and platinum group metals was formed 250 million years ago during the eruption of the Siberian Trap Igneous Province. Its officially discovered mineral resources are so large that at current production levels they will last for another 80 years.
This is the key resource base of Nornickel, the only company in the world that produces a wide range of metals: copper, nickel, gold, silver, platinum, rhodium, palladium and other platinum group metals.
