The head of Rosneft Igor Sechin discussed the issues of current and future cooperation of Rosneft with German partners with the ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Germany to Russia Geza Andreas von Gayr. This was reported by Interfax with reference to the company’s press office.
Also at the meeting, Sechin spoke about the prospects of the Vostok Oil project, which is being implemented in the north of the Krasnoyarsk region.
“The Vostok Oil project is of great interest to international investors from different countries. If the German business is interested in it, Rosneft is open to considering various options for cooperation”, the head of the Russian oil company emphasized.
Sechin noted the high integration of Russia and Germany in the energy sector. The volume of accumulated reciprocal investments is more than 20 billion dollars. At present, Russia meets more than 30 percent of Germany’s oil needs and more than 50 percent of gas. In addition, the Russian complex is a major consumer of German equipment and engineering products and provides employment for tens of thousands of people in Germany.
In addition to the West-Irkinsky area, Vostok Oil has already included the Vankor cluster of Rosneft – 15 fields, the largest of which are Suzunskoye, Tagulskoye, Lodochnoe and Vankorskoye. Rosneft expresses hope that the ready-made infrastructure of Vankor will significantly accelerate the development of a new oil and gas province in Taimyr. In addition, Vostok Oil should include the fields of the East Taimyr cluster – a joint venture of Rosneft and British BP in this region, where more than 13 000 wells are planned to be build.
