A positive conclusion was received by the package of the engineering documentation for the development of deposits of especially valuable coking coal from the Syradasay deposit in Taimyr.
The ngineering surveys were carried out to prepare for the construction of the open pit and related infrastructure. According to the Glavgosekpertiza’s press service, currently the production of especially valuable coking coal of fat grade 2Zh is carried out in Russia in the Elginsky (Yakutia) and Elegestsky (Tyva) open-pit mines. Coal at the newly developed Syradasay deposit also belongs to this grade used in metallurgy.
The license for the field development belongs to Severnaya Zvezda LLC, which is part of the international corporation AEON. In April 2019, Sberbank of Russia and AEON entered into the agreement to develop the Syradasay deposit, including the creation of a coal mine with a 10 million tons per year capacity. Earlier, Severnaya Zvezda had received a positive conclusion from the State Environmental Expertise.
The development of the deposit will begin with the largest site, Yugo-Zapadnoye, where coal will be mined by open-pit mining. As the This is Taimyr previously wrote, the industrial coal cluster will also include a deep processing plant, a shift camp and a sea terminal.
