Belarus wants to work in the Arctic

July 17, 2020

Belarusian entrepreneurs are interested in cooperation with Russia in the Arctic zone.

As gazeta-karelia.ru reported, for interaction in the Arctic regions, the non-profit organization Arctic-SG going to be involved. It was created in order to ensure a comfortable human presence in the Arctic and attract more personnel to the North using the advanced technologies of Russian and Belarusian scientists.

Business preferences in the Arctic may also go for Belarusian companies. For this, it is planned to create an information center.

Now the most significant example of the interaction of fraternal states in the Arctic zone is the project on the opening of machine-building production in the Republic of Karelia by the Belarusian holding Amkodor. The special investment contract is for ten years. The volume of investments will amount to about 14 billion rubles.

Recall that a package of the Arctic laws recently approved by the Federation Council makes the Arctic, including Taimyr, a special economic zone.
