For 20 years, the canine team of the Taimyr linear department of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs has been guarding the safety of transport facilities in Taimyr. The group was created in July 2001. This is the northernmost cynological unit in the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The employees conscientiously serve for the protection of public order and security at the Norilsk airport and in the seaport of Dudinka. Every day and night, they carry out inspections of passenger and cargo aircraft and sea transport.
Since the beginning of the year, the specialists of the team have carried out almost 300 preventive, operational-search and investigative measures, in which service dogs were involved.
This year, the four-legged transport police assistants helped solve three crimes in the field of drug trafficking.
On June 21, on the Day of the Dog Handler, the staff of the Taimyr Linear Department congratulated all former and current dog handlers on their professional holiday.
