The plant received the certificate of compliance of its information security management system (ISMS) with the norms and requirements of the international standard ISO / IEC 27001: 2013. The document was issued after the audit conducted by the British Standards Institution (BSI), an international leader in certification of management systems.
“In fact, this is a recognition of an obvious fact – the domestic enterprises are at the best world practices level in terms of cyber defense of their assets,” commented Dmitry Grigoryev, director of the information security and IT infrastructure department of Nornickel. “International certification enhances the competitive advantages of the Nornickel Group companies and helps to increase the investment attractiveness of the company as a whole”.
The Nadezhda Metallurgical Plant is one of the key enterprises of the Norilsk Nickel group, which largely determines the stability of its production cycle, the company notes. The plant’s ISMS, developed by the specialists of the company’s information security divisions, covers the processes of the operational production management, raw materials and technological materials supply, as well as the implementation of the plans for the finished products production and shipment.
It should be noted that this is the second Norilsk Nickel enterprise whose corporate cyber defense system has successfully passed the international audit. Last year, the BSI certificate was received by the Murmansk transport branch of Norilsk Nickel.
